Merlize Du Toit

Merlize du Toit is a freelance Makeup artist and Hairstylist from Cape Town.
Whilst being a hairstylist for 26 years ,she always wanted to combine her love for doing hair with her passion for makeup.

That is why she decided 11 years ago, to pursue her passion and attended PMU Makeup school and artistry where she was trained in photography, media and fashion makeup.

Merlize says that working for herself has been such an adventure.She’s been fortunate to work on music videos, tv shows and magazines where she learned from the best in the trade.

Her style of makeup artistry is to bring out the natural beauty in people and make skin look flawless.

Merlize said "It takes years to master your art but finding the right products to work with is the secret to my success, so finding MUD products was a blessing for me.

I love working with this brand and it gives me that flawless finish that I need for photography and media ”.

Her work has been published in magazines nationally and internationally. She's recently had her makeup and hair artistry gracing the covers of local magazines featuring the lovely Afrikaans singer, Andriette Norman. Merlize is also the personal makeup artist and stylist to Gospel singer and tv presenter Rouchelle Liedemann.

Working with this talented lady is a big honour for her and she recently did the makeup and hair styling for her new cd cover that’s coming out soon.

She is honoured to be the personal makeup artist to tv presenter, motivational speaker and Influencer Mishka Patel, and loves doing new looks on this talented lady for her blogs and social media platforms.

She will be doing Mishka’s hair and make up for her upcoming wedding as well. Having her bridal artistry on a magazine's front cover was a dream come true, when she worked as the hair and makeup artist
at Emo Adams and the lovely Michelle Adam’s wedding in 2016.

Merlize’s love for what she does can be seen in all her work, it’s not just a job for her it's a passion and a part of her.

Besides being a celebrity makeup artist there is much more to her than meets the eye. She gives back to the community by being an ambassador for the Daniel & Friends Fund. She is also the hair and makeup sponsor for the yearly Alta Du Toit big charity concert, in aid of special needs children.

Merlize has a special needs child of her own therefore this is a cause that lies very close to her heart.
